How has this year started for you? Does the calendar year actually feel like the start of something new or do you feel like there has still been release from the past happening and the new year hasn’t quite started? Have the goals you have set been able to stick?
For me, personally it has been a time of reflection and release. I have been grieving the loss of a dear aunt at the beginning of this year and grappling with concern over what his happening with immigration and politics locally, nationally and globally, while raising biracial/bicultural children. Despite those heavy topics, I have found that the goals that I have set are sticking--- my personal neurobioenergetic work allows and guides me to make balanced decisions, keep a realistic perspective, respond instead of react, keep healthy boundaries and my peace, no matter what may be happening around me.
We all experience stress, illness in one form or another, and have beliefs, patterns, and habits—but we are not meant to normalize or become habituated to them. Increasing research demonstrates fetal learning and that beliefs can form before birth. It’s well known that maternal stress impacts the fetus, offering insight into how generational patterns repeat and why subconscious beliefs have such a strong impact on our lives. We are designed to be self-healing (though this doesn’t mean we can heal everything ourselves or in isolation), so why has this become so challenging or unfamiliar? If we are the creators of our reality, how can we tend to ourselves first so that we can approach the issues around us from a healthy, rational, open and honest perspective?
